How Does Electrostatic Painting Work?
This electrostatic painting process may sound a little bit confusing so we’ll break it down for you. When you have our team come on out to your location we will start by washing the items you want to be painted, this way there will be no debris or dirt in the way of your flawless paint job. Then we will sand the items down to ensure there is some kind of barrier between the surface and the painting finish. At this point, we will either move on to the next, and last, step or we will apply some masking to the areas that it is needed. Then we will move on to the fun part, the electrostatic coating process. During this step, our electrostatic spray gun will apply the coating to your item of choice. This last step is going to be done a few times depending on what color you want and if you want any unique blending of colors. However, the standard process has us starting with the first base coat spray to set that foundation. Then we will go on in with another coat, this one will be heavier than the first. Once this next coat is applied we allow it a minimum of 30 minutes to dry. Once it has fully dried, voila, you have your good as new object ready to go. It’s that easy.

Since the paint is being applied electrically, there is a lot more precision when the paint is being sprayed as opposed to when you manually paint. The electric device works by using magnetic attraction with the item being painted to ensure the paint sticks and is attracted to the item. This works by the paint in the device being applied with a negative charge. The barrel of the device will then be given a charge as well. Our team will then spray the paint out of the spray gun and on to the items being painted. While the paint is coming out of the barrel it is further exposed to a negative charge and thus giving a flawless finish on the item being painted.
